went to kindergarten in tokyo, 8th, 9th and 10th grade in switzerland at the le rosey institute. the rest of his high school career he stayed in new york. after high school, he attended columbia university and studied anthropology, and later dropped out because he became too distracted with music.
history of sean's career
starred in michael jackson's movie, "moonwalker" at the age of 13. during yoko's rising tour, sean had his own band, ima, consisting of him, timo ellis and sam koppelman. during that time sean met yuka honda of cibo matto, who were doing some remixes for yoko, and they started going out right away. sean kept a low profile and toured with cibo matto in 1996 as their bassist. at the 1996 tibetan freedom concert, adam yauch aproached him and asked him to release something on grand royal, the beastie boys' label.
sean took yauch up on the offer, and thought about using a pseudonym, seeing all the troubles that his half brother julian had. but, sean decided to use his surname, and asked yuka to produce his debut album, into the sun. if you would like to read sean's bio about into the sun, follow the link here.
